This 12-year-old Chennai Girl Entrepreneur wants to make her "Four Seasons Pastry" as No.1 in the desserts business; here's her story - Kehyo!

Vinusha MK, native of village called Mocchikulam in Ramanathapuram District is a Founder and Chief Baking Officer of Four Seasons Pastry which offers Cupcakes, Chocolates, Sandwiches. She is a Class 6 student of Amirta Vidyalayam Chennai. Her Mother Kavitha runs Kindergarten school and Father Muthuramalingam is an engineer.

Four years ago, an eight-year-old Vinusha MK wanted to surprise her mother on her birthday.  She baked a cake with her friend by searching videos. To the surprise, the cake tasted good. Even though the cake tasted good, it was not of the consistency that she had expected.

But Vinusha eventually decided to give it another shot. Turns out, the second time was the charm. This cake was perfect. There was no looking back after that. That was the day, she decided to explore baking.  Four years down the line, this twelve-year-old from Chennai is a Pastry Chef, who runs her very own baking brand — Four Seasons Pastry — that she started in September 2019.

Four Seasons Pastry Cupcakes

Vinusha MK named it as Four Seasons Pastry based on the four seasons — Summer, Winter, Autumn and Spring. She explains, “While the base of the FOUR seasons cupcakes remains the same, the cream and frosting are very different. They represent the four seasons. For winter, it comes with a snowflake made out of fondant, orange reflects summer, flowers herald spring, and scattered orange leaves depict autumn.” Apart from cupcakes, she also makes Chocolates and Sandwiches. Vinusha has also put together a baking kit for young children like her, who are keen on baking.

“My parents were extremely supportive when they got to know that I like to bake. They enrolled me in a few baking workshops and helped me to interact with Entrepreneurs to help me take my dream further. Also, before starting my own venture, I had interned at a five-star hotel in Chennai and a few cafés to learn more about baking,” she says. “It was initially hard for me to cope up with school lessons and baking classes. Now, I find it interesting and challenging as I believe in rising above the ordinary, ” she added.

Four Seasons Pastry has sold around 1000 cupcakes and chocolates and about 50 numbers of STEM based Baking kit. Her Ambitions of Four Season Pastry are to make her brand as No.1 and to establish a Culinary Institute in India for underprivileged children who are passionate about Culinary arts.
