UP Govt to constitute a Board to promote Organic Farming says Yogi Adityanath(CM) - Kehyo!

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said that the Green Revolution might have increased the food grain production but it resulted in worst effects because of increased usage of Chemical fertilizers over a period of time.

He also revealed that his Government planned to constitute a Board to promote Organic Farming throughout the state.

Speaking at an event organized by the World Bank on ‘Organic Farming’ , Yogi highlighted the growing number of cancer cases in Punjab which was one of the biggest beneficiaries of the Green revolution that has started in the 1960s.

CM said that the use of chemical fertilizers was required to be shunned while resorting to Organic farming in order to protect the earth and humanity.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the government is promoting organic farming to protect farmers from the challenges of climate change through the fusion of “back to basics” and “march towards the future” with digital agriculture, for which it has made provisions in this year’s Union Budget.

Yogi’s pointed stress on organic farming comes after PM Narendra Modi consistently laid out emphasis on the subject that ostensibly aims to increase the income of farmers by drastically reducing the agricultural input cost.

UP has selected the Bundelkhand region to carryout Organic Farming.

CM underscored how the Centre formulated a campaign in 2020 to make areas on both sides of Ganga a chemical-free zone. The Uttar Pradesh Government too pitched in by carrying out a Ganga Yatra across 34 districts to spread awareness.
